From 12 issues that was published by Vogue Brazil this year, seven of them were fronted by Brazilian models. They consistently shows their support for homegrown talents, and that’s a good thing, especially these three models who they really love and support: Isabeli Fontana, Adriana Lima, and Gisele Bundchen. Those household names have graced the covers every single year since 2011. But, that observation was only from our recaps archives, perhaps they’ve graced even more.
Curitiba born Isabeli Fontana (30) was featured for the magazine’s September issue, posed in front of Jacques Dequeker lens together with American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Ben Harper, while the longest serving Victoria’s Secret Angel (since 2000) Adriana Lima, who was born in Salvador, Bahia 32 years ago, was photographed by Giampaolo Sgura for October issue. Gisele Bundchen (born in Três de Maio in 1980) landed two cover slots this year. The sexy mother of two worked with the renowned Mario Testino for June issue, and Giampaolo Sgura for December issue.
Another well known Brazilian models on their covers this year were Izabel Goulart for February (by Giampaolo Sgura), Alessandra Ambrosio for March (by Caroline Trentini‘s husband Fabio Bartelt), and last but not least Aline Weber for April (by Jacques Dequeker).
Top models like Joan Smalls, Magdalena Frackowiak, Mirte Maas, Bette Franke, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Naomi Campbell, Kate Upton, Lindsey Wixson, and Karlie Kloss also featured for the magazine front pages this year. Which one is your favourite?
