Eva Mendes covers the May 2019 issue of Women’s Health US magazine, sharing why she stepped away from Hollywood to focus on fashion and raising her two daughters – and why her hot healthy relationship with Ryan Gosling makes her a better parent.
On looking back a few years and how she ended up with her 2- and 4-year-old kids:
“It was the furthest thing from my mind. Ryan Gosling happened. I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have…not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him.”
On how parenting has changed her life:
“We’re just starting to get out of survival mode. I’m starting to feel like a person again.”
On getting back to exercise (a mix of mobility, stability, strength, cardio, and plyometrics moves with trainer Johana Spates) three times a week:
“I’m envious of women who enjoy working out, because I have the worst attitude about it. My vanity gets me to the gym – and obviously health reasons – but I’m kicking and screaming the whole way through.”
On watching what she eats:
“I have blood work done at least twice a year because I have high blood sugar, and high cholesterol runs in my family. I’m not squeaky-clean healthy. I have a sweet tooth, so I can’t keep anything in the house.” Images courtesy of Women’s Health. (source)
