Riverdale stars Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch and KJ Apa are fronting the May/June covers of Seventeen US photographed by Jon Wong and Benjo Arwas.
LILI REINHART – Betty >> On choosing not to comment much about her love life: “Every time someone asks me about it, I make a decision then and there about whether I’m comfortable. It’s not like I’m in some kind of contract, but I’m not in the place where I want to talk about it, and that’s totally fine. It’s called a private life for a reason—it’s mine, and it’s special and sacred. My relationships are between me and whomever I’m with, not between me and the world.” .
COLE SPROUSE – Jughead >> On relationship advice he’d have for his younger self: “Relax! I spent so much time trying to be perceived as some kind of playboy instead of someone who spent 90 percent of his day playing video games.”
CAMILA MENDES – Veronica >> On her struggles with an eating disorder and how she got to a good place: “I’d eat no carbs and all vegetables, and the skinny girl next to me was eating McDonald’s and had never worked out a day in her life. I thought I wasn’t doing enough. But I finally started to let that go and embrace my own type of beauty. Everyone’s bodies are different, and we all have different shapes, but it has nothing to do with who you are.” .
KJ APA – Archie >> On if he’s looking to start dating (last year he said he wasn’t): “I’ve changed for sure. But that’s all I really want to say. Well, that, and I’m really happy. The thing is, I don’t think it matters whether you’re looking for a relationship or not—it’s not for us to decide when we meet the love of our lives.”
MADELAINE PETSCH – Cheryl >> On what her own high school life was like: “…I had body dysmorphia too. I looked in the mirror and thought that I was gross. I‘ve learned not to let anyone affect my thoughts of myself. And I learned to love my red hair – it’s my favorite thing! Now, the biggest piece of advice I’d give myself is to embrace that I’m unique because that’s what’s making me successful.” (source)
