Featured Article: Mischa Barton, Whitney Port, Heidi Montag & Audrina Patridge for Cosmopolitan US April 2019

They’re back… and so is the binge-able drama that defined the early aughts—both in fiction (The O.C.) and “reality” (The Hills, Laguna Beach). Back then, Mischa Barton, Whitney Port, Heidi Montag, and Audrina Patridge launched a different kind of celebrity: one who looked like us, talked like us and cried like us. But that was 15 years ago. Times have changed, and so have they. The four are now getting ready to promote The Hills’ long-awaited reboot, a sequel of sorts called The Hills: New Beginnings. The series (returning this summer on MTV) includes this crew and other memorable faces from the previous franchises, like Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Justin (Bobby) Brescia, and Jason Wahler.

Heidi Pratt on whether The Hills was “real” or not: “Toward the end of The Hills, Spencer and I had a lot of scripted fights and things like that.”

Heidi on her infamous falling out with LC: “Sometimes things happen that will change how you feel about people, and sometimes it’s very permanent. I thought with Lauren and me, we would’ve been friends again.”

Mischa Barton on her decision to join a reality show: “It’s weird because I remember going out with Nicole Richie and people at the time, and we would come by set when they were filming The Hills. She would drag me to the producer van to see what you guys had been up to all day. All these years later…it sounds corny, but it felt like this was supposed to happen.”

The ladies on the challenges of finding nannies who aren’t familiar with The Hills:

Audrina: “I met with a nanny last week… She’s so young, and she was there while we were filming, listening, asking a million questions. She’s a Hills fan too, I guess.”

Whitney: “Maybe you should rethink hiring her then. I have a nanny who’s close to 70. I took a picture of something randomly and she was like, ‘Will that go on social media?’”

Mischa: “If she was a fan of The Hills, it might not be the best.” Images courtesy of COSMOPOLITAN. (source)

Featured Article: Flare 2012 Covers Recap

Flare magazine’s Fashion Director Elizabeth Cabral styled most of the covers on this year’s line up for the Canadian monthly fashion publication. Well, that’s because three out of twelve front pages were a reprint.

Scarlett Johansson‘s May cover by Alexi Lubomirski was reprinted from the February 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar US. Michelle WilliamsJuly cover was a reprint from her editorial inside the December 2011 issue of Elle UK. Last but not least, Flare‘s December cover featuring Keira Knightley who’s promoting Anna Karenina, was photographed by Terry Tsiolis and published earlier in the March 2011 issue of Elle UK.

As always, Cabral did a great job with the styling for the magazine’s covers this year. She styled Canadian models Jessica Stam in a purple lace Tom Ford dress for January issue (Stam‘s second cover in just four months!) and Coco Rocha in Ashley Rowe vest, Joe Fresh bright orange skirt and Louis Vuitton strappy shoes for February cover.

Revenge star Emily VanCamp wears Emilio Pucci yellow embroidered dress for the March cover by Chris Nicholls, who also photographed Coco‘s cover. Nicole Richie wears Roberto Cavalli‘s gold paillettes jacket and matching skirt for the April cover, while model turned actor Brooklyn Decker wears Peter Pilotto‘s gorgeous sleeveless peplum dress for June issue. Both covers were photographed by Max Abadian who also snapped the total of 7 front pages this year! He also responsible for the covers that’s featured Jessica Stam, Rose Byrne (in Marchesa), Lindsey Wixson (in Prabal Gurung), Milla Jovovich (in Calvin Klein Collection), and Claire Danes (in Fendi)

Flare is always been our favourite magazine because they keep producing beautiful covers. We love most of their covers (even though they used three reprints this year) especially Stam, Decker, Wixson and Jovovich version. Feel free to the links and check out their 2011 and 2010 covers line up.
