You had to look twice on the Lana Del Rey cover just to make sure if it’s the real image, or just a snap from someone’s phone.
We Love both images by Francesco Carrozzini with styling by Michael Philouze and Rushka Bergman (for Nicki Minaj version)! (source)

Thomas Whiteside and Carter Smith are the two most hired fashion photographers by Elle US covers this year. American born Thomas Whiteside photographed lots of well known faces in entertainment industry from Jessica Biel, Nicki Minaj, Adele, Reese Witherspoon, Melissa McCarthy, Shailene Woodley, Marion Cotillard, to Naomie Harris for the monthly publication. Fellow American Carter Smith shot six slots for Elle US cover. The covers were featuring Claire Danes, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Amanda Seyfried, Kate Upton, and Lea Michele.
Roberta Myers as Elle US editor in chief mixed it up with the unique works of Ruth Hogben who shot Lady Gaga for their October issue, and Horst Diekgerdes who shot Scandal‘s Kerry Washington for June.
Our favourite from the newsstands covers are Jessica Biel‘s January (the subs also nice!), Taylor Swift‘s March, and Kate Upton‘s September issue. And from the subsriber version, our favourite goes to Shakira‘s July, and Lady Gaga‘s October. Share to us your favourite covers in the comment box below.
Marie Claire US got two Academy Award Best Actress winners as their cover stars this year. Natalie Portman who won the award for her dramatic role in Black Swan wore Dior on the magazine’s November cover, shot by Tesh. While Julia Roberts who got her Oscar from Erin Brockovich, made a notable cover appearance for Marie Claire‘s December issue photographed by Cedric Buchet.
Another Oscar-related actress on the line up is Keira Knightley, who graced their important March issue shot by Nathaniel Goldberg. She was nominated for the same category as Natalie and Julia back in 2005 for Pride and Prejudice. On the side note, May issue cover star Scarlett Johansson may haven’t received a nomination for Oscar, yet, but she was a presenter for the prestigious event back in 2011.
The majority of Marie Claire‘s cover stars this year were actresses. From Glee star Lea Michele, Tron Legacy heroine Olivia Wilde, the quirky yet lovely New Girl and (500) Days of Summer protagonist Zooey Deschanel, and Disney starlet Vanessa Hudgens. Three of them were posed in front of Tesh‘s lens (he shot the total 5 slots this year!), while the other one was photographed by Andreas Sjödin.
Former Victoria’s Secret Angel and Project Runway host Heidi Klum, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, TV personality and author Lauren Conrad, and singer/rapper Nicki Minaj rounding up the 12 cover stars from the monthly women’s publication edited by Anne Fulenwider.
