Kenzo Creative Directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim once again called on the talents of TOILETPAPER, a collective composed of artist Maurizio Cattelan, photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari and art director, Micol Talso to produce the brand’s latest ad campaign. The campaign is featuring models Mona Matsuoka and Qing He. (source)
UPDATED JULY 07TH 2014: Added the campaign video by Toilet Paper.
Kenzo was inspired by the universe of David Lynch, who designed the set for the label’s fall collection, for the advertising images for its fall collection, which features models Guinevere Van Seenus and Robert McKinnon in a series of cinematic and unsettling environments.
“We were interested in figuring out ways to evolve the past concepts into something that felt different but still in the spirit of both Kenzo and Toilet Paper. Since the collection was inspired by David Lynch, it was natural for us to incorporate some of the emotions we experience when seeing his work,” said Kenzo creative director Carol Lim.
This marks the third collaboration between Kenzo creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim and Maurizio Cattelan, Pierpaolo Ferrari and Micol Talso of Toilet Paper magazine. (source)
One of the best campaigns this year! Pierpaolo Ferrari photographed top male model Sean O’Pry and Academy Award-nominated actress Rinko Kikuchi, for the quirky Fall Winter 2013 ad campaign of Kenzo. Those cheeky art was created by Maurizio Cattelan.
The world record-breaking and highly collectible publication takes another step along the path to immortality with Forever. Conceived with the support of G-Shock, makers of “the watch that never breaks,” this inkless and paperless issue of the magazine takes the durable capabilities of high-performance, weather-resistant gadgetry and applies them to the medium of the art and fashion image. Complete with an all-metal case that acts as a frame, the issue consists of ten embossed “pages” by artists including Inez & Vinoodh, Craig McDean, Yoko Ono, Richard Avedon, Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari. Working with CGI artists, Visionaire has transformed two-dimensional photographs into three-dimensional reliefs, which were then pounded into 9 x 12” embossed metal plates. With this new issue, Visionaire can proudly claim to have produced the first publication to be made entirely of metal.
Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan gave his touch on the third cover of Muse magazine #26 Summer 2011 photographed by Pierpaolo Ferrari. Click the links to see earlier released covers featuring two well known models: Anne Vyalitsyna and Lily Donaldson.
