Gucci Forever Now 2012 Ad Campaign

The 25 year old Princess of Monaco and the granddaughter of Grace Kelly, is fronting the campaign of Gucci Forever Now range photographed by Peter Lindbergh. The lovely Charlotte Casiraghi was once graced the cover of Vogue Paris back in September last year.

Below are the quotes from Gucci.com

Gucci is pleased to announce that it is extending its relationship with Charlotte Casiraghi, who will be the protagonist of the House’s new “Forever Now” advertising campaign series conceived by Creative Director Frida Giannini in collaboration with Ms. Casiraghi. Over the course of the next two years the new campaign will see Charlotte Casiraghi portrayed by four of the world’s most respected fashion and portrait photographers in a series of sittings celebrating the House’s renowned icons.

The first portraits tell the story of Gucci’s signature green and red stripe through the lens of Peter Lindbergh. Shot against the backdrop of a stable, the intimate photographs of Ms. Casiraghi evoke founder Guccio Gucci’s fascination with the art of riding.

It was Guccio Gucci who appropriated the green and red stripe from the canvas girth strap of the horse’s saddle.  In the Fifties he first applied these colors to the trim and detailing of luggage and travel trunks, since then the stripe with its unmistakable colors has become an immediate visual reference to the House of Gucci.

Today, this legacy continues with Frida Giannini‘s special equestrian designs for Charlotte Casiraghi.  The riding wardrobe Giannini has created for Ms. Casiraghi is highly technical but luxurious and features distinctive bearings of the House’s own heritage, including the houses iconic green and red colors as well as the Gucci Crest and the finest of materials.

Quoted via Fragrantica:

The prestigious Italian fashion house of Gucci launches a new collection of fragrances under the creative director of Frida Giannini. It comes out in May 2012 named Flora by Gucci Garden Collection. The collection includes five most important blossoms outlined on the legendary Gucci scarf designed by Vittorio Accornero for Princess Grace of Monaco. These five new editions are: Glorious Mandarin, Gracious Tuberose, Gorgeous Gardenia, Glamorous Magnolia and Generous Violet.

“It’s a sort of bouquet of scents,” said Giannini for wwd, “So Gorgeous Gardenia because I wanted to underline the gorgeously feminine side of this fragrance. Glorious Mandarin because there’s a sort of euphoria in mandarin, since it’s such a sparkly fruit.”

In the process of making these fragrances, it was very important to distinguish them from one another. The idea is that each fragrance should reflect a facet of the same woman. The fragrances come in elongated hexagonal shaped bottles with transparent rather than gold stoppers.

The face of the advertising campaign is Abbey Lee Kershaw, shot by Sølve Sundsbø. The fragrances are available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette, except mandarin and violet one that will be available exclusively at Gucci flag stores as 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

“I wanted to create a collection from timeless aesthetic while re-examining the House’s codes through a contemporary lens,” Gucci‘s Creative Director Frida Giannini explains about her latest collection, Cruise 2012. She added, “I set out to contaminate the styles seen in archival photographs from the Fifties and Sixties with a modern vision”

Her take on the fifties and sixties are shown in no less than 44 womenswear looks in lavish materials such as mélange, lurex, silk, georgette, cotton voile and crêpe de chine modeled by Kasia Struss, Melissa Tammerijn and Martha Streck. The lavish materials used by Frida Giannini combined with the sophisticated tailoring made these as a yet another wearable and luxurious collections that put the fashion house as one of the leading brands in the industry.

Black and white printed trench coat with stripes top, tight skirts that hit below the knee with double breasted jacket, pleats carved in gold on mini skirts with small collarless jacket, tight ankle-length pants with darts and cuffs, white dinner jacket worn with a golden reflector top and a trompe l’oeil dress combined with the same shade of chartreuse are some of the highlights from the collection that was presented earlier this June in New York City.

Gucci also featured square lady bags to carry on the shoulder or by hand, maxi shopper bags in animal prints, small belts to emphasize the waistline, plexi and PVC flower details, high heeled pumps with sharp points (in zebra prints!), a compelling python sandals and classic horsebit moccasins to completed the looks.

Lenz von Johnston—who starred in Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott photographed advertising images of Gucci Cruise 2012 along with top model Karmen Pedaru— sporting the ultimate Cruise signature, a stripes sweater paired with white rolled up pants. Nick Rae and Mark Cox also sporting the nautical stripes with sneakers, paisley shirt, leather jacket and cuffed jeans for another perfect Resort outfit.

Gucci Cruise 2012 collections are now available in Gucci stores nationwide (Plaza Indonesia, Senayan City and Plaza Senayan). The collections are also available in Gucci stores worldwide.

Gucci also recently opened its newly renovated boutique with a new design concept by Frida Giannini in Via Montenapoleone on September 21st 2011, the first day of Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2012 which also the day that the latest collection from Gucci was presented (click here to view the fashion show video).

The 1600 square meters boutique located in the heart of Milan‘s fashion district, Quadrilatero della Moda, is still having Gucci‘s signature materials such as rosewood and marble but enhanced with the introduction of new elements such as ribbed glass, warm polished gold, smoked mirror and smoked bronze glass, recalling the elegance and richness of the Art Deco era.

Via Montenapoleone is one of Europe’s most prestigious retail destinations so I wanted to amplify the luxuriousness of the boutique’s environment through natural light and space to create an aesthetic, which is complementary to the vision of the House today,” explains Giannini.

In the exclusive event, customers witnessed first handed how the meticulous attention to detail and the superb craftsmanship was given by the House’s most skilled artisans during the personalization of the handbags with the hand-embossed monogramming (each handbag featured a special inside plaque embossed with the location and date) at the artisan’s custom-built workshops inside the boutique.

In addition, for the first time ever the artisans displayed their work in front of the public on the signature Gucci moccasin and demonstrated expert techniques used in the shoe-making process.

The Montenapoleone store is among over 30 Gucci stores in the world that now reflect Frida Giannini‘s design concept following its successful roll-out in other cities including New York, Rome, Hong Kong, London, Shanghai and Paris.
