Demi Moore and his husband, Ashton Kutcher were boo-ed when they walked the red carpet of São Paulo Fashion Week couple of days ago because they were late for nearly three hours!!! BOOOOOOO!!!!!
Looks like Harper’s Bazaar US tried different types of covers this year.
Close up : Kate Moss by Peter Lindbergh for March.
Vogue-ish : Katherine Heigl for June/July by Alexi Lubomirski
Festive background : Drew Barrymore gold background for October by Mark Seliger and Katy Perry silver background by Alexi Lubomirski for December (click here for Katy‘s special limited edition subscriber cover).
Alexi Lubomirski, Mark Seliger and Peter Lindbergh each shot 3 covers this year. While Terry Richardson shot 2 covers.
From their 11 covers, 8 of them featured big “FASHION” stamped on the headlines. Of course we already knew that Harper’s Bazaar is a fashion magazine :))
None of the newsstands cover is my favourite, because the covers are not selling and not attractive to me. Maybe it’s their signature cover, but i think they need to make the cover much more attractive if they want to sell more issues… I gotta admit, i loved their fashion spreads even better than their covers. And my favourite goes to the black and white subscriber cover of November featuring Georgia May Jagger by Hedi Slimane.

Isabeli Fontana was Vogue Portugal first cover girl in 2010, where she posed in white background wearing black outfit lensed by Marcin Tyszka while Demi Moore showed quite similar posed for February. It was a reprint from W magazine shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and Kasia Struss (she was the last girl to closed the last show of New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 earlier this year before moved to Bryant Park from Lincoln Center) spread from Vogue US by David Sims was the March cover. Another reprint.
Bregje Heinen cover for April my favourite from Vogue Portugal, the dress and the green header. I always have a thing for green header :D. While big haired Viviane Orth for May is my least favourite this year, the purple header doesn’t match with the background and headlines font colors. Their June cover, where Vogue Portugal featured a reprint of Vogue Germany March 2010 spread with Karolin Wolter and a dog photographed by Thomas Schenk.
Natasha Poly spread from Vogue Paris May 2010 by Mario Sorrenti was another reprint for Vogue Portugal. This time they used the image for July cover (it was Natasha Poly’s third Vogue cover in 2010 and she ended this year as the model with most featured on Vogue global editions!!). Actress Daniela Ruah was the girl featured on August cover shot by Marcin Tyszka. Olga Sherer landed a black and white cover for September as she lensed by Bojana Tatarska. Newcomer Pauline Van Der Cruysse rocked animal print for October photographed by Thomas Schenk.
Last reprint this year was Kate Moss by Patrick Demarchelier from Vogue UK September 2010 spread for November. While Ana Beatriz Barros lensed by Sølve Sundsbø in a unique shot from above for December. I quite like this one.
So, I was not very impressed with this year’s cover of Vogue Purtogal 😀 Hopefully next year they featured less reprint.

Elle UK started this year with a cover of the leggy model Helena Christensen photographed by Jan Welters. The subscriber cover is simple. Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman graced their soft hued February cover lensed by David Slijper. While Liv Tyler graced the quite dark cover of March photographed by this years British Fashion Awards nominee Rankin.
For April, Elle UK chose indie actress Chloe Sevigny as their cover girl as she lensed by Rankin wearing Miu Miu. David Slijper photographed another cover for Elle UK (he lensed 4 cover this year!). This time he lensed Demi Moore for May. Click here for newsstands cover and here for subscriber.
Twilight leading lady Kristen Stewart landed July 2010 and shot by Matthias Vriens McGrath. Click here for the subscriber cover and here for newsstands. Lily Allen who lost another baby were featured on August cover wearing the fabulous Miu Miu dress photographed by Rankin (click here for subscriber cover).
Emily Blunt fronting the September issue wearing Valentino and Stella McCartney photographed by Matthias Vriens McGrath. Those lace dresses fits her image perfectly.
Celebrating their 25th Anniversary, Elle UK gave 5 different cover for their October issue. Naomi Campbell, John Galliano, Coco Rocha (she was blonde and lensed by David Vasiljevic), Kate Hudson (photographed by Ben Hassett) and second cover for Helena Christensen this year.
David Vasiljevic continues to photographed Elle UK covers with Alexa Chung as the November cover girl (click here for subscriber cover). And Anne Hathaway who will be the host for next year’s Academy Awards along with James Franco featured on the cover of December issue wearing the uber famous Balmain gold dress. She was photographed by David Slijper.
My favourite this year are Emily Blunt’s, Anne Hathaway’s, Chloe Sevigny and Kylie Minogue‘s. What are your favourite cover this year from Elle UK?
