The creepy cover is a peek from David Fincher’s latest project, Gone Girl (out later this year). He photographed the cover with two of the casts, Rosamund Pike (Amy Dunne) and the new Batman, Ben Affleck (Nick Dunne).
Gone Girl is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s 2012 smash best-selling novel with the same name about the marriage of Nick and Amy, two out-of-work magazine writers whose marital bliss turns toxic after they leave New York City for the Midwest. When Amy vanishes on their fifth wedding anniversary, Nick becomes the prime suspect in her murder. (source)
If you following our Twitter account, @art8amby, you must’ve already seen this latest cover of Vogue US two days ago featuring the leading female cast of the highly anticipated David Fincher directed remake, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (click here for the cool teaser posters) that will be released on December 21st 2011.
The 25 year old younger sister of fellow actress Kate Mara was photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott (their first ever Vogue US cover, congratulations!) and styled by Tonne Goodman in Ralph Lauren Collection Fall Winter 2011 dress for the cover and she looks surprisingly beautiful, contrary to her hard and rebellious character in the movie, Lisbeth Salander.
Her first high fashion magazine cover was for this year’s February issue of W in which she sporting the edgy look of Lisbeth Salander. And by edgy we mean piercings and body tattoos.
We are loving how Vogue US featured quite a number of first timers this year on their covers such as Kristen Stewart, Rihanna, Emma Watson and Rooney Mara.
Now we just need to patiently wait for the talented Emma Stone to landed her first Vogue US cover. Hopefully next year, just in time for her to promoting The Amazing Spider-Man.

Jean-Baptiste Mondino photographed David Fincher‘s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo lead casts Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig for the November 2011 subscriber cover of Empire UK.
25 year old Rooney Mara is rumored to be featured for the upcoming cover of Vogue US. Earlier this February she already landed the cover slot of the high profile W magazine sporting the edgy Lisbeth Salander look. Will she look like Lisbeth in the cover of Vogue too?

This David Fincher adaptation of the best selling Swedish novel of the same name by Stieg Larsson will be released on December 21st, 2011. This will be the second adaptation of the novel because in 2009, a Swedish-language movie was released.
The Social Network‘s Rooney Mara will played the main female character, Lisbeth Salander while Daniel Craig will played as Mikael Blomkvist.
Rooney Mara graced the W February 2011 and showed the first makeover as the edgy punk Lisbeth Salander.
