We love how Vogue Russia always experimenting with different types of photography on their covers. Some might worked, some might not. But nonetheless, they always featured top models on their covers line up.
Victoria Davydova tapped homegrown models Natasha Poly (she landed the cover consistently every single year since 2007!), Sasha Pivovarova, and Daria Strokous as the 2013 cover girls. She also featured famous personality Dasha Zhukova who’s a Russian socialite, celebutante, philanthropist, entrepreneur, fashion designer and the editor-in-chief of bi-annual art and fashion magazine GARAGE.
Natasha Poly‘s minimalist image was shot by Patrick Demarchelier, while Sasha‘s red punk September issue was shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. Dasha Zhukova‘s cover was great, but too similar with some of the covers made by Interview magazine, and eventhough the layering on Daria Strokous was heavy, but we kinda liked it.
Some of top names in fashion photography have presented their signature shots for the magazine this year. From Hedi Slimane‘s black and white image on Lara Stone (the Creative Director of Saint Laurent also shot Suvi Riggs‘ March issue, eventhough not in his signature B&W), Paolo Roversi‘s sophisticated color tone on Saskia de Brauw, to Vincent Peters clean cinematic shot on Maryna Linchuk.
Some other well known photographers who worked with the monthly fashion publications this year were Richard Bush who shot Joan Smalls for April and Anja Rubik for July; Claudia Knoepfel & Stefan Indlekofer for August issue with Karmen Pedaru; and last but not least Willy Vanderperre who photographed Daria Werbowy (with mullet hair) for October issue.

The new magazine by Dasha Zhukova (former editor in chief of POP magazine), Garage, just released the second and third cover of their first issue featuring a provocative image photographed by Hedi Slimane with a green butterfly sticker created by Damien Hirst. The peel off sticker was inspired by the Velvet Underground album art by Andy Warhol.
The other cover is featured a tattoo created by well known artist, Richard Prince. The magazine will be released on September 05th 2011 during New York Fashion Week.

A puppetlike Lily Donaldson in a creepy dollhouse was created for the first issue cover of Garage Magazine by photographer Nick Knight and artist Dinos Chapman.
The magazine that will come out during Fashion Week, is created by Dasha Zhukova, a former editor of Pop, and named after the contemporary art center she opened in Moscow in 2008.
There are rumours saying that there will be three different covers, one of the more provocative covers shows a Hedi Slimane photograph of a lower half of a nude model, whose crotch is covered by a green butterfly sticker created by Damien Hirst. The sticker peels off (inspired by the Velvet Underground album art by Andy Warhol) to reveal a butterfly tattoo, also of Mr. Hirst’s design.
The masthead of the magazine includes Mike Meiré (he is also the art director of the influential German magazine 032c) as Art Director, Shala Monroque as Creative Director and Joan Juliet Buck as an Editorial Consultant.
