We just teased you with their Menswear latest campaign yesterday, photographed for the first time ever by one of the designers, Domenico Dolce.

And today, we give you the womenswear campaign preview that was also snapped by Domenico Dolce with the styling works by Stefano Gabbana, featuring top names in modeling industry Zuzanna Bijoch (she recently visited Bali, Indonesia, for a campaign shot!), Kate King, Bianca Balti with actor Monica Bellucci and socialite Bianca Brandolini D’Adda.

Dolce & Gabbana Menswear Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign

For the first time ever, Domenico Dolce served as the photographer for his own Dolce & Gabbana label!

The 54 year old Sicily raised designer is teaming up with his design partner, Stefano Gabbana (50) as the photographer and stylist respectively, for their namesake label’s latest advertising campaign.

Dolce & Gabbana were inspired by the 1948 Luchino Visconti film La Terra Trema, about Sicilian fisherman, which the director filmed on location using locals. The designers decided to populate their photographs with nonprofessional models who would pose alongside Italian actress Monica Bellucci and socialite Bianca Brandolini d’Adda.

Gabbana gave them their motivation: “I spoke with all the people and said, ‘This is the situation: It’s a Sunday on the beach with your family and your girlfriend’s family. This is the mood.’”

Adds Dolce: “They’re Sicilian. They understand the music. They understand what we want to see.”

The result is a campaign that hits the sweet spot of the Dolce & Gabbana canon. Dark-haired men exude earthy machismo and proud narcissism. The women are curvy and sensual.

The background evokes the cultural stew of Sicily and the tenor of life there, especially as it compares to the northern industrial capital of Milan. “It’s hot; it’s passionate. It’s less chic but it’s more emotional,” Gabbana says of Sicily. “I think the south of every part of the world is very similar.”

Mariano Vivanco once again photographed the mainline campaign images of Dolce & Gabbana Menswear and this time some of the casts are Italian actors Francesco Scianna, Gianmarco Tognazzi and Brenno Placido and the Italian socialite who is also featured for the brand’s womenswear campaign, Bianca Brandolini D’Adda.

This time, the Italian casts were accompanied by Italian socialite, Bianca Brandolini D’Adda.
