2013 is yet another strong year for Vogue Turkey. We love most of their covers this year. From Poppy Delevingne‘s soft January issue by Alvaro Beamud Cortes, to Karmen Pedaru‘s eerily creepy big grin on December cover, shot by Cuneyt Akeroglu. Here’s hoping that 2014 will be yet another great year for them.
Some of our favourites from them are the February issue with Catherine McNeil, in Lanvin, photographed by Miguel Reveriego; Anja Rubik and her mile-long neck on the April issue; and Mariacarla Boscono‘s triumphant returns on magazine cover, shot by Cuneyt Akeroglu.
The magazine collaborated with photographers Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello, Sebastian Faena, KT Auleta, Cedric Buchet, and Serge Leblon for the remaining covers. They photographed top models and famous personalities such as Patricia Van Der Vliet, Milla Jovovich, Karlie Kloss, Bette Franke, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Toni Garrn, and Lou Doillon for Vogue Turkey‘s March, May, June, July, August, September, and November issues respectively.

Eversince their launch last year, Vogue Netherlands consistently features homegrown talents on their covers. This year, the only non-Dutch cover stars were American model Erin Wasson who posed in front of Petrovsky & Ramone lens for May issue; the striking Senegalese Kinee Diouf by Ishi for July (one of our favourite covers); and Polish top catwalker Kasia Struss, who shared the cover slot (by Philippe Vogelenzang) with Dutch model with Indonesian descent, Dewi Driegen for August.
They started this year with rising model Agnes Nabuurs, who was photographed by Erwin Olaf. The rest of the cover models in 2013 were top models or established names in Dutch fashion industry. We are talking about Bette Franke, Milou Van Groesen, Doutzen Kroes (she landed two slots for June and September, shot by Josh Olins and Paul Bellart respectively and we love both of them!), Ymre Stiekema, Marte Mei Van Haaster, Justine Bakker, Sylvia van der Klooster, and Cato Van Ee.
Dutch photographer who lives and works in Amsterdam and New York, Alique photographed the most front pages for the publication this year. She photographed the magazine’s March, April, October and November issue. Vogue Netherlands completed their 2013 covers line up with a minimalist yet charming special cover featuring the lovely Queen Maxima of The Netherlands.

This year, there were two notable cover appearance comebacks on Vogue Japan. Russian catwalker Sasha Pivovarova and Japanese model turned actress Tao Okamoto returned to grace the covers of Vogue Japan since a very long time and they were both photographed by Patrick Demarchelier.
The 70 year old French fashion photographer also snapped four other covers for Japanese Vogue this year. He shot Hungarian beauty Vanessa Axente (the upcoming face of Chanel Beauty) for February, Lindsey Wixson for March, Cara Delevigne for September, and Karlie Kloss for November (the leggy Ms.Kloss also featured on the June issue, shot by Hedi Slimane). Vanessa, Lindsey and Cara were all first timers for the magazine.
Other first timers on Vogue Japan front pages were Joan Smalls (by Terry Richardson), Kati Nescher (by Mikael Jansson), and Bette Franke (by Giampaolo Sgura). The remaining cover girls this year are Victoria’s Secret Angel from Netherlands, Doutzen Kroes (in Prada Spring Summer 2013, shot by Mikael Jansson for April issue), and Raf Simons’ favourite Russian, Daria Strokous (in Givenchy Fall Winter 2013 sweatshirt, shot by Sølve Sundsbø for December).
