Cosmopolitan US 2011 Covers Recap

This year, Cosmopolitan US gave four cover slots to four talented singers. Three of them are first timers while one is repeating.

Hayley Williams, the flame haired leading singer of Paramore showed her sexy side in the blue background May issue. I like the color combination in this first Cosmo cover of her.

Lots of people don’t like Nicki Minaj‘s November cover but I said the contrary. Her “normal” pose, black outfit and the pink masthead looked great with the dominant white while British songstress Adele also landed her first Cosmopolitan US cover for December, but I don’t think that animal printed Dolce & Gabbana dress was a great choice for her. They should’ve picked something more flattering for her.

The last singer who graced the front page of Cosmopolitan US this year is another red haired, the gorgeous Rihanna who’s wearing a tribal printed midriff-barring top from Mara Hoffman on the cover of July issue.

The rest of the covers this year are belong to actresses (well, I don’t know where to tagged the fabulous August cover star, Kim Kardashian. An entrepreneur perhaps?)

Twilight star, Ashley Greene for January, Black Swan and Friends With BenefitsMila Kunis for February, Glee‘s Lea Michele with the hair that covered half of the masthead for March, Aliens & CowboysOlivia Wilde for April, Bad Teacher‘s Cameron Diaz for June, another Glee starlet Dianna Agron for September and last but not least one of the leading casts of the now cancelled Charlie’s Angels TV series, Minka Kelly for October.

UPDATED NOVEMBER 12th 2011: Added two better quality cover images photographed by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Lori Goldstein. Dakota Fanning wears Valentino Haute Couture’s chantilly silk lace dress. Elle Fanning wears Valentino Haute Couture’s chantilly silk lace and ostrich feather dress. Images via Style.com and TFS.

Two of Hollywood foremost young actresses and sisters, Dakota and Elle Fanning are the epitome of divine in the December cover preview of W magazine!

17 year old Dakota Fanning sparked controversy recently because of the Jurgen Teller photographed image of Marc Jacobs Oh Lola! fragrance banned in the UK. The UK Advertising Standards Agency have deemed the pictures ‘too suggestive’ and have ordered it be pulled forthwith.

According to the regulatory body the “length of her dress, her leg and the position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child.” You may view the campaign image, here.

Her 13 year old sister, Elle, gaining quite a positive buzz this year with her role in JJ Abrams‘s Super 8 and the campaign slot for Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall Winter 2011. Elle Fanning also featured on the gorgeous cover of LOVE magazine this year.
