Talk about model love. Numéro China really, really in love with Xiao Meng Huang. They excessively used her in four (!) different cover slots in 2012. The Chinese model who is represented by DNA Models in New York was featured on the magazine’s January/February, May, October and November issue respectively. She got the chance to work with stylist Joseph Carle and photographers Yin Chao and Tiziano Magni multiple times last year.
Following her trail is fellow model Xiao Wen Ju, who graced two front pages (April and June/July) for Numéro China, both photographed by Tiziano Magni. The Italian born photographer snapped most of the covers for the magazine in 2012. Other than the mentioned names above, he also works with cover girls Tati Cotliar (March), Sara Blomqvist (August), and Carolyn Murphy (September). And that leaves the December issue, featuring top catwalker Eniko Mihalik who posed in front of Gianluca Fontana lens.
Numéro China gave variety this year. Some works (Natice American headpiece on Sara and Xiao Wen Ju‘s June/July issue), but some didn’t (we are looking at you Eniko!). Hopefully next year line up will be more exciting.

Chinese top catwalker, Ming Xi, is the first 2012 cover girl of Vogue China. The image snapped by Li Qi marks Ming Xi‘s third Vogue China cover in just 6 months! They must have really loved her.
More homegrown models and celebrities are also featured on the covers this year i.e actress Vicki Zhao for February by Kai Z Feng (our least favourite image from the line up); actress Fan Bing Bing for two different covers of April by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin; Liu Wen–who shares the slot with fellow model Monika Jagaciak–for July by Patrick Demarchelier; rising models Tian Yi, Xiao Wen Ju and Liu Wen (this is her third consecutive September issue covers for the magazine!) for September issue also by Inez & Vinoodh; and last but not least, actress Li Bing Bing for their anniversary issue, photographed by Chen Man.
The rest of the line up are featuring some of the top and established names in modelling industry. Isabeli Fontana and Natasha Poly wears Prada pleats dresses on the March cover, by Inez & Vinoodh. Natasha Poly also landed her second cover for Vogue China this year for November, in front of Willy Vanderperre‘s lens wearing Dolce & Gabbana. Arizona Muse wears Lanvin for May issue, shot by Josh Olins. Doutzen Kroes, in Chanel swimsuit, posed for Sølve Sundsbø on the June issue. The infamous multi-colored sweater from Céline was featured for the August cover, with Kati Nescher by Josh Olins. And the leggy Karlie Kloss closed the year in a blood red Valentino Couture dress and cape, photographed by Sølve Sundsbø.

UPDATED NOVEMBER 21st 2012: Added three new campaign images of Kenzo Accessories, photographed by Frederik Heyman and styled by Marie Chaix, featuring models Xiao Wen Ju and Simon Sabbah. Images via TFS.

UPDATED OCTOBER 03rd 2012: Added a new fun campaign image via TFS, photographed by Jean Paul Goude, featuring dancers and models (Chantal Stafford Abbott, Emma Xie, Simon Sabbah, Herieth Paul, Willy Cartier and Xiao Wen Ju).

Quoted from WWD:
Kenzo has tapped Jean-Paul Goude to shoot its fall-winter campaign, which will break in the July issue of L’Uomo Vogue this week to coincide with the Pitti Uomo trade show in Florence. Kenzo creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, the duo behind Opening Ceremony, said they have long admired Goude and felt he was the ideal choice to shoot the collection, which was influenced by the spirit of founder Kenzo Takada’s Jungle Jap store in Paris in the Seventies.
“Carol and I, growing up, have always been huge, huge fans of his work and when we started at Kenzo, that’s one of the initial things that we said would really kind of connect all the dots in the most perfect way,” said Leon. “A lot of it was just a conversation about where Paris was when Kenzo first arrived, and I think Jean-Paul Goude has just such great insight into that era. He was just really excited about us telling the story.”
The campaign features images of models Xiao Wen and Simon Sabbah, both wearing sweaters embroidered with a tiger and the Kenzo logo, superimposed to form an X shape. “It’s really exciting putting in the forefront that this brand is a unisex brand,” said Leon. “The idea that this image can work for both men’s and women’s magazines, depending on how you reverse it, was a very interesting take from his part on our collection.” The campaign is slated to run globally starting in September in titles including Vogue Paris, Vogue U.S., Vogue Hommes International, GQ, Love, W, Self Service and Fantastic Man.
