InStyle US 2011 Covers Recap

The first cover star in 2011 for InStyle US was a Academy Award winning actress, Gwyneth Paltrow lensed by Michelangelo di Battista. The issue marked the 200th editions of the magazine edited by Ariel Foxman and first published in November 1993.

Michelangelo di Battista also photographed another Academy Award winner, Natalie Portman for February issue while Julianne Moore–who’s also snapped by him–graced the March issue and also related to Oscars because she was nominated four times (in 2003 she was nominated for two different categories).

One of Hollywood’s funniest ladies, Tina Fey, graced the magazine’s annual Color issue lensed by David Slijper. Katie Holmes on the front page of August was also the work of the British born photographer.

One of my favourite covers from InStyle US is the May issue with Kate Hudson by Michelangelo di Battista who’s also snapped Beyoncé for September, Gwen Stefani for November and Eva Longoria for July issue, their very first scented issue, where you can find five rub-and-smell spots in it with the scents of watermelon, grass, suntan lotion, popcorn and ice coffee. Interesting!

Young singer Taylor Swift landed her second InStyle cover in yellow Victoria Beckham for June, photographed by Regan Cameron. Fellow singer, Katy Perry was pretty in pink for the October cover lensed by photographer duo Jenny Cage and Tom Betterton. InStyle US closed their covers line up this year with 37 year old Amy Adams for December who looked very young and flawless lensed by Vincent Peters. Photoshop much?

So, do you have any favourite covers from InStyle US this year, guys?

Vogue US 2010 Covers Recap

The Notebook stars Rachel McAdams graced her first Vogue US cover in January 2010 wearing Dolce & Gabbana photographed by Mario Testino. He also photographed Jessica Biel for February cover where the actress looking gorgeous wearing Denim and the funny woman, Tina Fey first Vogue cover for March.

Mario Testino continues to collaborates his with Vogue US with the whooping 5 covers in a row !! Sarah Jessica Parker‘s May, Blake Lively summery June (my favourite!), beautiful Marion Cotillard for July, Gwyneth Paltrow Vogue cover #3526 for August (LOL!!) and Halle Berry historical September cover. Until the end of the year he added 2 more covers (10 in total !!!) : Anne Hathaway for November in Oscar De La Renta (another favourite!!) and the different December cover (the cover looked so UK Vogue) where he lensed the beautiful Angelina Jolie.

There are only 2 covers where Anna Wintour doesn’t used Mario Testino : April cover, The Body Issue which Patrick Demarchelier lensed Gisele Bundchen with her fabulous body after gave birth to Baby Benjamin and October cover with Carey Mulligan wearing Chanel (her first Vogue cover) shot by Peter Lindbergh (good to have him back to Vogue!).

I’m quite happy with this year’s covers because some of the cover girls are having their moment. It was their first time at Vogue cover!!! And they looked fabulous and gorgeous !!!
