Karen Elson & Edie Campbell for Vogue Italia May 2013

Young British model Edie Campbell landed her second Vogue Italia cover two month in a row (click here for last month’s)! She’s working together once again with Steven Meisel for the cover, and this time with fellow Brit Karen Elson. Who knew loungin’ on a kitchen table in bikini could be so chic.

Karen wears bikini with band top and high-waisted culotte in lycra and two-tone tulle notch embroidered; while Edie wears one-piece with the same detailing, all by Ermanno Scervino, styled by Karl Templer. Guido (for Redken) responsible for the wet-look hair, while Pat McGrath (for Dolce & Gabbana Make Up) for the bare face.

Edie Campbell for Vogue Italia April 2013

British model Edie Campbell landed her first Vogue Italia cover with this Steven Meisel-photographed April issue with “Fearless” headline!

Karl Templer styled the mod model in dress with sleeveless “Bar Jacket” in wool crêpe and silk with organza skirt from Dior. Guido Palau responsible for that outrageous hair while Pat McGrath done the make up. The issue will hit the newsstands on April 05th in Milan and shortly after in the rest of Italy.

Prada Pre Fall 2013 Ad Campaign

UPDATED APRIL 05th 2013: Added three new images with Vanessa Axente and Amanda Murphy.

Steven Meisel photographed the minimalist and clean Pre Fall campaign images from Prada featuring Hungarian rising star Vanessa Axente (looks like Miuccia has found her new muse in Ms.Axente because she just landed her third consecutive Prada campaign under her belt!), and newcomer from Netherlands who looks like an ice queen, Irene Hiemstra (her second consecutive campaign for the brand). The campaign was styled by Olivier Rizzo.

Vogue Italia and Franca Sozzani must’ve really love the Hungarian model, because they gave the former Prada Fall Winter 2012 fashion show opener her third cover slot in less than a year (she was on the July and December 2012 issue)!

Featured Article: Vogue Italia 2012 Covers Recap

If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. That’s how we put the collaboration between photographer Steven Meisel and Vogue Italia that has been going strong for more than 20 years and still counting.

Sometimes they created magic on the covers (i.e the April issue with models Aaron Vernon, Chrystal Copland, Ethan James, Lyle Lodwick, Thairine Garcia and Sojourner Morell; September issue with Carolyn Murphy, and December with Vanessa Axente and Marlon Teixeira), sometimes they created something that’s so dull even though they tapped a great cover star (we are looking at you Mrs. Isabella Rossellini). And they certainly really knows how to liven up the hype, as the current IT model Kate Upton landed one of the most coveted cover slots in the world of fashion publication.

Vogue Italia combined top famous names in modeling industry with the rising newbies as their 2012 cover girls. They mixed runway regulars and veterans Caroline Trentini, Daria Strokous, Joan Smalls, Linda Evangelista, Jamie Bochert, Meghan Collison with promising new crop of girls such as Laura Kampman, Mackenzie Drazan, and Vanessa Axente (she got the honor to be featured twice last year!).

Vogue Italia always came up with something different from the other Vogue editions, and we respect that. Especially the minimalist text on the cover. Franca Sozzani already made history this year as she chose Fei Fei Sun as the magazine’s first ever Asian cover girl! We are looking forward to see what Franca will bring in 2013.

Steven Meisel once again returning to shot the campaign of Lanvin, and this time he photographed male models Michael Lange, Christian Garcia and Kristoffer Hasslevall for the brand’s Spring Summer 2013 advertising images. We can wait until they released the womenswear campaign!
