24 year old Danish top model, Freja Beha Erichsen, landed her third Vogue Italia covers in less than a year! Right after her front page slot in March and November 2010, she was featured for the first 2011 cover of Vogue Italia along with her now rumored girlfriend, Arizona Muse, photographed by regular photographer for more than 20 years, Steven Meisel.
Freja Beha Erichsen was not the only returning cover girl for this year’s models line up, because catwalk veteran Kristen McMenamy (August 2010) and the possible new Angel of Victoria’s Secret’s, Karlie Kloss (January 2010), are both returning for another snapped once again by Steven Meisel for the 2011′s May and December issues respectively.
South African born Victoria’s Secret Angel, Candice Swanepoel, was a bombshell on the February issue while the similar hairstyle was sported by Raquel Zimmermann on the dull August cover, my least favourite. But, thankfully, Steven Meisel make it up Raquel Zimmermann‘s boring cover with the exceptionally amazing November issue. One of this year’s best cover! Saskia de Brauw‘s March issue and the sultry black and white June cover featuring three plus size models who looked gorgeous and fabulous: Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley, are amongst this year’s best covers too.
Red haired model/musician, Karen Elson returning to the front page of Vogue Italia for the first time since December 2006 with the same grace and elegance for October. The former face of Missoni, Kristina Salinovic landed her first Vogue Italia cover for April as well as one of the current faces of Balenciaga, Juliane Grüner, for July issue. Last but not least, top model Stella Tennant shocked the fashion industry with her 13 inch waist (that’s not her real waist, right?) and appeared on the September cover of the magazine photographed by Steven Meisel.

This year’s Vogue Brazil cover models are stellar and fantastic, but some of the covers are not.
My least favourite cover is September issue featuring gap toothed model Georgia May Jagger by Renam Christofoletti. The orange backdrop was just too much it hurts my eyes. Candice’s Swanepoel‘s October cover snapped by JR Duran came in second. The background looked fake! Such a waste of Candice… I love Raquel Zimmermann, she’s one of the world’s most beautiful women, but her June front page by Henrique Gendre was too plain and white. They should’ve added some colors there.
Gisele Bundchen‘s four covers version on July issue, by Patrick Demarchelier and Jacques Dequeker, are not that impressive. I like the concept but there was a cover that’s blurred. Top model and Victoria’s Secret Angel, Alessandra Ambrosio landed the December cover photographed by Eric Guillemain with actor Rodrigo Santoro. I don’t know maybe it’s the Louis Vuitton dress, the red masthead or the background, but it looked similar to Isabeli Fontana‘s September cover of Vogue Mexico, which is better than Ale‘s.
These covers were ok. I don’t like it that much but I’m not really hate it either: Emanuela de Paula‘s January issue by Jacques Dequeker; Freja Beha Erichsen‘s March issue by Henrique Gendre; Aline Weber‘s April issue by James Macari; and Karolina Kurkova‘s November issue by JR Duran.
And my favourite covers this year from Vogue Brazil are: February issue snapped by Fabio Bartelt featuring Adriana Lima‘s angelic face; August issue with Isabeli Fontana photographed by Jacques Dequeker with the great styling to matched the headline “Glam Tropical”; and my ultimate favourite is… Kate Moss, naked and fabulous, on the May issue snapped by Mario Testino!

Raquel Zimmermann for Vogue Italia November 2011 shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Raquel in a hectic train dressed up in a extravagant look from Alberta Ferretti, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry Prorsum, Bottega Veneta, Dior, Emporio Armani and others.
Brazilian top model Raquel Zimmermann landed her second Vogue Italia cover this year and it’s way better than her August cover. This is how you should do a cover Mr. Meisel! Reminds us of your superb works back in early 2000.
The current face of Shiseido, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Juicy Couture, Printemps, Jimmy Choo, Animale, Alexander McQueen and Alexander Wang was styled by Carlyne Cerf De Dedzeele for the cover and the amazing editorial.
The winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 16, Brittani Kline, landed her winning price, the Beauty In Vogue cover in the same issue lensed by Vincent Peters and she did not dissapoints. Bravo!
