Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott photographed Russian top model Natalia Vodianova for the minimalist cover of March issue of Vogue Paris with the styling works by the magazine’s editor in chief, Emmanuelle Alt.
We’re not liking this cover. It’s too dull for spring issue.

Vogue Mexico/Latin America started this year with a simply stunning Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott photographed image, a reprint from Vogue Russia‘s last cover edited by Aliona Doletskaya, featuring Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova.
Quite similar hands-in-waist pose like Natalia can be seen in four more covers this year: Evan Rachel Wood‘s February issue by James White, the only non model front page; Cindy Crawford‘s May issue by Tesh; Isabeli Fontana‘s September issue by Marcin Tyszka; and one of my favourites, Magdalena Frackowiak‘s December issue by David Roemer.
David Roemer also photographed four more covers this year for Vogue Mexico: March with Siri Tollerod, April with Crystal Renn, October with Julia Stegner, Ryan Kennedy and Julian Schratter and last but not least, November with Maryna Linchuk. That’s lot of cover job for a year. Congratulations!
Polish born fashion photographer Marcin Tyszka, who also shot Anna Jagodzinska for the second cover version of September issue (the third version featuring Eniko Mihalik was snapped by Regan Cameron), landed two more cover slot this year and both of them were also my favourite: Kim Noorda‘s June issue and Zuzanna Bijoch‘s July issue.
Beside Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, James White and Tesh, Michael Filonow, a former model, is another photographer who photographed one cover slot for the monthly fashion publication. The New York based photographer lensed 24 year old Estonian model, Tiiu Kuik, for the August issue.
I’m quite impressed with this year’s covers and hopefully next year they’ll impress me even more.
Which one is your favourite cover from Vogue Mexico/Latin America this year, guys?

It has been a great colorful year for Vogue Turkey. They presented various color combinations on their 2011 covers line up. Yellow masthead, red dress, brown backdrop, you name it!
One of the current “it” models, Aymeline Valade was photographed by David Dunan for the first 2011 cover wearing a gold Balmain mini dress. Paris Hilton landed the February cover slot as she was photographed wearing the infamous Terry Richardson-like glasses snapped by the photographer himself. The black masthead looked perfect for the cover. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen graced the magazine first anniversary issue snapped against orange backdrop by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
The Spring Summer 2012 campaign face of Hugo Boss Black, Malgosia Bela, sporting bohemian vibe on the April front page snapped by Cüneyt Akeroğlu while he shot a whole different concept for the September issue featuring Natalia Vodianova and the August issue featuring three new models, Milly Simmonds, Egle Jezepcikaite and Yana Sotnikova.
The gorgeous Liv Tyler was photographed by Chad Pitman on her first cover for the magazine, the May issue. A fresh blue masthead was used for the June cover along with top model Anna Jagodzinska who was lensed by Mariano Vivanco while red masthead completed the perfect summer cover photographed by Sebastian Faena for the July issue featuring Jon Kortajarena and Dree Hemingway. The Argentinian born photographer also shot Isabeli Fontana on the minimalist November issue.
Emma Summerton was responsible for the eye catching October cover image with Edita Vilkeviciute and the unmistakable Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011 collection and another great cover this year is the December issue with Jacquelyn Jablonski, in red Francesco Scognamilio dress snapped by Matt Irwin.

Christiane Arp edited magazine, Vogue Germany, gave two extra covers this year. In 2010, the total tally was 14 covers, and they gave better line up this time than last year.
Started with Maryna Linchuk in a beautiful soft pink Chanel dress photographed by Greg Kadel for January issue. And then one of the 2012 Pirelli Calendar models, Milla Jovovich, who graced the black and white February cover lensed by Francesco Carrozzini while the Estée Lauder spokesmodel, Constance Jablonski (last year she landed another important cover slot, the September issue) snapped strikingly by Alexi Lubomirski in Alexander McQueen‘s signature butterflies collection for the March cover.
A bright and summer appropriate cover was photographed by Claudia Knoepfel & Stefan Indlekofer in Turks & Caicos island featuring the short haired American, Britt Maren. The photographer duo from Switzerland also snapped Russian beauty, Natalia Vodianova for the July issue. Top model from Germany and the current face of Maybelline, Julia Stegner, graced her hometown Vogue‘s May issue by Alexi Lubomirski who also photographed three covers of the June issue featuring real life couple: Sasha Knezevic and Anja Rubik; Archie Drury and Karolina Kurkova; and Jamie Mazur with his girlfriend, Alessandra Ambrosio.
Another three different covers for a single edition from Vogue Germany this year was for November issue with model and budding actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She was photographed by Alexi Lubomirski for the Fashion, Beauty and Jewelry covers. Supermodel Claudia Schiffer returns as Vogue Germany cover star this year in one of my favourite works from Miles Aldridge, the August issue. Last year, the 41 year old featured for the June front page, naked and pregnant!
Swedish photographer Camilla Akrans only landed one cover slot this year for October featuring Doutzen Kroes with smokey eyes and blunt bangs while England born photographer, Alexi Lubomirski, triumphed this year cover job for Vogue Germany with two striking works on the cover: Iris Strubbeger‘s September issue and Karlie Kloss‘s December issue. I believe his works will be gracing more covers in the future.
