This is a perfect summer cover photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin with the styling works by the editor in chief, Emmanuelle Alt. Nuff said!
The first Health Initiative issue will hit the newsstands on May 24th. If you’re wondering what is Health Initiative, it’s a pact between the 19 international editors of Vogue to encourage a healthier approach to body image within the industry.
The six-point agreement are:
1. We will not knowingly work with models under the age of 16 or who appear to have an eating disorder. We will work with models who, in our view, are healthy and help to promote a healthy body image
2. We will ask agents not to knowingly send us underage girls and casting directors to check IDs when casting shoots, shows and campaigns.
3. We will help to structure mentoring programmes where more mature models are able to give advice and guidance to younger girls, and we will help to raise industry-wide awareness through education, as has been integral to the Council of Fashion Designers of America Health Initiative.
4. We will encourage producers to create healthy backstage working conditions, including healthy food options and a respect for privacy. We will encourage casting agents not to keep models unreasonably late.
5. We encourage designers to consider the consequences of unrealistically small sample sizes of their clothing, which limits the range of women who can be photographed in their clothes, and encourages the use of extremely thin models.
6. We will be ambassadors for the message of healthy body image.

UPDATED FEBRUARY 06th 2012: Added two new campaign images.

Ooooh! We are loving this! Gisele Gundchen and Ryan Barrett were photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for the latest campaign image of Versace Jeans replacing Timmi Radicke and Nimue Smit. The same people who made that “blue-ish” Spring Summer 2012 campaign of Versace mainline.

Carine Roitfeld, the former editor in chief of Vogue Paris, resigned from the magazine earlier this January and succeeded by the magazine’s fashion editor since 2000, Emmanuelle Alt. The lucky girl to get casted for Carine‘s last edited cover was the Spring Summer 2012 campaign face of Chanel and Max Mara, 30 year Dutch model Saskia de Brauw, as she was photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
Fellow Dutch beauty, Lara Stone (she was the 90th Anniversary cover girl last year. A great cover!), landed two cover slots this year and both were gorgeous: February issue in Gucci by Mario Sorrenti and August issue in Haider Ackermann by Inez & Vinoodh.
Kate Moss, who was Carine‘s first cover model 10 years ago, also landed two cover slots this year. In 2010, the Addiscombe born supermodel was photographed by Mario Sorrenti for the summery June/July issue. In 2011, she was featured for Emmanuelle Alt‘s second VP cover under her direction, the May issue (her first cover was Gisele Bundchen in Dolce & Gabbana by Inez & Vinoodh for April), and also the iconic December 2011/January 2012 front page, both were snapped by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot.
The well known photographer duo also lensed couple more front pages this year for the magazine: Isabeli Fontana for June/July, and the now pregnant Sasha Pivovarova for October. The remaining covers were great in my opinion: Charlotte Casiraghi, the second child of Caroline, Princess of Hanover, Hereditary Princess of Monaco, and the late Stefano Casiraghi, an Italian industrialist, by Mario Testino for September and the current IT model, Arizona Muse by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin for November.
And that’s wrapping up our annual covers recap! Feel free to share your favourites from this year’s line up on the comment box below, click here to read all of the 2011 recaps and here for Vogue Paris‘s 2010 review.
Thank you so much for reading it, have a blast holiday, Happy New Year and see you in 2012, guys!!

This year’s Vogue Brazil cover models are stellar and fantastic, but some of the covers are not.
My least favourite cover is September issue featuring gap toothed model Georgia May Jagger by Renam Christofoletti. The orange backdrop was just too much it hurts my eyes. Candice’s Swanepoel‘s October cover snapped by JR Duran came in second. The background looked fake! Such a waste of Candice… I love Raquel Zimmermann, she’s one of the world’s most beautiful women, but her June front page by Henrique Gendre was too plain and white. They should’ve added some colors there.
Gisele Bundchen‘s four covers version on July issue, by Patrick Demarchelier and Jacques Dequeker, are not that impressive. I like the concept but there was a cover that’s blurred. Top model and Victoria’s Secret Angel, Alessandra Ambrosio landed the December cover photographed by Eric Guillemain with actor Rodrigo Santoro. I don’t know maybe it’s the Louis Vuitton dress, the red masthead or the background, but it looked similar to Isabeli Fontana‘s September cover of Vogue Mexico, which is better than Ale‘s.
These covers were ok. I don’t like it that much but I’m not really hate it either: Emanuela de Paula‘s January issue by Jacques Dequeker; Freja Beha Erichsen‘s March issue by Henrique Gendre; Aline Weber‘s April issue by James Macari; and Karolina Kurkova‘s November issue by JR Duran.
And my favourite covers this year from Vogue Brazil are: February issue snapped by Fabio Bartelt featuring Adriana Lima‘s angelic face; August issue with Isabeli Fontana photographed by Jacques Dequeker with the great styling to matched the headline “Glam Tropical”; and my ultimate favourite is… Kate Moss, naked and fabulous, on the May issue snapped by Mario Testino!

Gisele Bundchen doesn’t give a sign to stop this season as she landed her third major campaign booking right after Givenchy and Versace! She is replacing Daria Werbowy as the new face of Salvatore Ferragamo and posing under a coconut tree by the beach for the brand’s latest campaign preview.

UPDATED DECEMBER 21st 2011: Added three new images of the campaign photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott featuring Gisele Bundchen, Mariacarla Boscono, Simone Nobili and Chris Moore. Images via Design Scene.

Gisele Bundchen landed her second blue chip campaign for next season! This time, the mother of one was photographed by the returning duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott (who also snapped her for Versace‘s latest “blue” campaign) for these great images of Givenchy‘s latest advertising along with Simone Nobili and Chris Moore with black surfboards against darkening skies. Riccardo Tisci described the atmosphere as “the expression of a love story between a surfer and a mermaid.”
The campaign make up and hair was done by Lucia Pieroni and Luigi Murenu respectively.

It has been a great colorful year for Vogue Turkey. They presented various color combinations on their 2011 covers line up. Yellow masthead, red dress, brown backdrop, you name it!
One of the current “it” models, Aymeline Valade was photographed by David Dunan for the first 2011 cover wearing a gold Balmain mini dress. Paris Hilton landed the February cover slot as she was photographed wearing the infamous Terry Richardson-like glasses snapped by the photographer himself. The black masthead looked perfect for the cover. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen graced the magazine first anniversary issue snapped against orange backdrop by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
The Spring Summer 2012 campaign face of Hugo Boss Black, Malgosia Bela, sporting bohemian vibe on the April front page snapped by Cüneyt Akeroğlu while he shot a whole different concept for the September issue featuring Natalia Vodianova and the August issue featuring three new models, Milly Simmonds, Egle Jezepcikaite and Yana Sotnikova.
The gorgeous Liv Tyler was photographed by Chad Pitman on her first cover for the magazine, the May issue. A fresh blue masthead was used for the June cover along with top model Anna Jagodzinska who was lensed by Mariano Vivanco while red masthead completed the perfect summer cover photographed by Sebastian Faena for the July issue featuring Jon Kortajarena and Dree Hemingway. The Argentinian born photographer also shot Isabeli Fontana on the minimalist November issue.
Emma Summerton was responsible for the eye catching October cover image with Edita Vilkeviciute and the unmistakable Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011 collection and another great cover this year is the December issue with Jacquelyn Jablonski, in red Francesco Scognamilio dress snapped by Matt Irwin.
