As usual, Vogue Portugal used lots of reprints from other Vogue editions as their cover. But, this year they combined it with their own photoshoot. From twelve set of images, four of them are originally produced by the magazine for the cover.
They listed top Portuguese model Sara Sampaio as the cover girl, twice. The 21 year old was photographed by Luis Monteiro for February issue, and by Pedro Ferreira for the magazine’s 10th anniversary in November. Vogue Portugal editors also fell in love with Poland born Patrcjya Gardygajlo, because they also gave her two slots this year. She was snapped consecutively by Marcin Tyszka for September and October issue. Amongst those four original cover photoshoots, we love the October and November images. Hopefully they will producing less and less reprints in the coming years.
The rest of the cover girls this year, are Aymeline Valade/January, Caroline Trentini/March, Bianca Balti/April, Arizona Muse/May (she is the model with the most Vogue covers this year, with 6 slots under her belt!), Snejana Onopka/June, Magdalena Frackowiak/July, Doutzen Kroes/August, and Daria Strokous/December.

Giampaolo Sgura is really gaining lots of attention this year. Besides shooting editorials that published in various major fashion publication, the Italian photographer also shot his second Dolce & Gabbana campaign this year. He also photographed four covers for Vogue Japan this particular year: January issue with Maryna Linchuk; March issue with Dolce‘s campaign star, Bianca Balti; August issue with Anja Rubik; and December cover with Kendra Spears.
Dutch duo, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin snapped two covers for Vogue Japan this year, with two Darias: Werbowy for July and Strokous for October (that Comme des Garçons dress really grabbing the attention).
The rest of the front page slot this year were given to huge names in photography, such as Sølve Sundsbø for February issue with Saskia de Brauw (we love the soft color palette), Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for April issue with Kate Moss (one of the year’s worst cover, really), Terry Richardson for June issue with Candice Swanepoel, rising duo Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi for May with Natasha Poly, Mikael Jansson for September issue with Karlie Kloss (our favourite!), and Patrick Demarchelier for November issue with Aymeline Valade.

The campaign is strangely very similar to Alexander Wang‘s latest. The black and white images, the bad hair style and the just-stood-there pose. Coincidentally, they shared the same photographer, David Sims.
Nevertheless, we’d liked to congratulate Aymeline Valade on her fourth campaign this season right after Reed Krakoff, Bottega Veneta and Giorgio Armani.
Oh, we almost forgot! The French girl is accompanied by Belgian model, Arthur Gosse in the campaign.
