Vogue Turkey has been one of those international editions with outstanding covers line up since their first issue back in 2010. They started 2012 with runway regular Elsa Sylvan in a rich red fur coat, shot against neutral background by KT Auleta. The New York born photographer also photographed the current campaign face of Estée Lauder, Constance Jablonski for the magazine’s June issue. Fellow spokesmodel of the giant cosmetic brand, Joan Smalls also made appearance on the December cover, by Cuneyt Akeroglu.
The famed Turkish photographer also snapped two other 2012 editions from Vogue Turkey: the April issue with Lara Stone, and September with Natasha Poly. The magazine also made history by producing one artsy yet controversial cover for their November art issue, created by Tanner Ceylan. It’s very unusual for Vogue to produced something as intriguing yet amazing like that.
The rest of the cover stars this year are Karolina Kurkova for February (by Alexei Hay), Angelina Jolie for March (by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott), Aline Weber for May (by David Vasiljevic), Carola Remer for July (by Laurence Passera), Miranda Kerr for August (by Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello), and Laetitia Casta for October (by Sean & Seng).

Editors shake up also hit Marie Claire US! Anne Fulenwider, formerly at Brides since October 2011, named as the new Editor in Chief of the magazine earlier this September, and replacing Joanna Coles who moved to Cosmopolitan (she helmed MC for the last six years). Fulenwider is back to Marie Claire because she had served as an executive editor under Coles for two years starting in September 2009. There are not much changed on the cover ever since Fulenwider helmed it. Next year, perhaps?
Anyway, Marie Claire US tapped top celebrities as this year’s cover stars. Starting with Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie who fronted the January issue, by Alexei Hay. They also listed singer and The Voice mentor, Christina Aguilera as the magazine’s February cover star. She was photographed by Tesh, who also shot seven (!) other front pages this year. The British photographer snapped the April, May, June, August, September, November and December issue featuring Leighton Meester, Zooey Deschanel, Jessica Alba, Kristen Wiig, Miley Cyrus (our favourite), Ashley Greene, and Jessica Chastain respectively. The rest of the celebrities who graced the magazine this year are Eva Mendes (March) and Blake Lively (July), both by Txema Yeste and Gwen Stefani (October), by Peggy Sirota.

Flare magazine’s Fashion Director Elizabeth Cabral styled most of the covers on this year’s line up for the Canadian monthly fashion publication. Well, that’s because three out of twelve front pages were a reprint.
Scarlett Johansson‘s May cover by Alexi Lubomirski was reprinted from the February 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar US. Michelle Williams‘ July cover was a reprint from her editorial inside the December 2011 issue of Elle UK. Last but not least, Flare‘s December cover featuring Keira Knightley who’s promoting Anna Karenina, was photographed by Terry Tsiolis and published earlier in the March 2011 issue of Elle UK.
As always, Cabral did a great job with the styling for the magazine’s covers this year. She styled Canadian models Jessica Stam in a purple lace Tom Ford dress for January issue (Stam‘s second cover in just four months!) and Coco Rocha in Ashley Rowe vest, Joe Fresh bright orange skirt and Louis Vuitton strappy shoes for February cover.
Revenge star Emily VanCamp wears Emilio Pucci yellow embroidered dress for the March cover by Chris Nicholls, who also photographed Coco‘s cover. Nicole Richie wears Roberto Cavalli‘s gold paillettes jacket and matching skirt for the April cover, while model turned actor Brooklyn Decker wears Peter Pilotto‘s gorgeous sleeveless peplum dress for June issue. Both covers were photographed by Max Abadian who also snapped the total of 7 front pages this year! He also responsible for the covers that’s featured Jessica Stam, Rose Byrne (in Marchesa), Lindsey Wixson (in Prabal Gurung), Milla Jovovich (in Calvin Klein Collection), and Claire Danes (in Fendi)
Flare is always been our favourite magazine because they keep producing beautiful covers. We love most of their covers (even though they used three reprints this year) especially Stam, Decker, Wixson and Jovovich version. Feel free to the links and check out their 2011 and 2010 covers line up.
