H&M confirmed the rumors that Lana del Rey is starring in its Fall 2012 ad campaign, and since the songstress has been cultivating a bit of a retro image, the brand decided to embrace that vibe for the campaign. The newly released images, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, show the singer in a monochromatic peach look composed of skinny jeans and a fluffy sweater. Her signature Priscilla Presley-esque hair, long talon-like nails, and nude lip with a smoky eye are on full display. In keeping with the 50s feel of the campaign, Lana also performs a cover of Elvis’ “Blue Velvet” in a short film on the H&M website.

Typically highly critical, forum members were fully on board with the campaign. “Love how she’s styled for this, well done H&M,” TeeVanity commended.

Mchunu posted, “I am seeing the 50s reference come through very strongly here, but what I like most about it is how modern it is. Despite the theme, she does not look like a caricature from the 50s glamazon era.”

We’re ok with a celebrity getting the campaign, as long as it’s not permanent. MulletProof wrote, “Lana looks amazing. I only hope they don’t make a habit out of this because I still prefer models.”

NEWS- Maison Martin Margiela confirmed the news to Women’s Wear Daily, saying: “The democracy of our fashion has always been at the center of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.”

French Fashion House Maison Martin Margiela confirmed to be the next designers collaboration with Sweden Fashion retail H&M, the collection will be launch on November 15th 2012.

News: H&M MAKES SUPER BOWL DEBUT WITH NEW DAVID BECKHAM AD


H&M debuted a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl to launch the new DAVID BECKHAM Bodywear collection Photographed by Alasdair McLellan. The stimulating spot marks both H&M and David Beckham’s inauguration into the Super Bowl advertising line-up. H&M recently announced a long-term alliance with David Beckham, which kicks-off with the introduction of the nine-piece Bodywear collection on February 2, 2012 in 1,800 H&M stores worldwide.

H&M’s advertisements are all produced in-house at the H&M headquarters in Sweden in cooperation with independent creative professionals. The David Beckham Bodywear commercial will have a prime position in the 2nd quarter of the game.

“We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our customers, and we see this as a unique opportunity to reach millions of fans and H&M customers. David Beckham is a true style icon and one of the most decorated soccer players of all time,” says Steve Lubomski, Director of Marketing for H&M North America. “We’re thrilled with this campaign and excited to captivate viewers’ attention during the Super Bowl, the biggest stage in the world to unveil our ad campaign.”
